~ REFERS TO THE CAT AS THE TIGER ~
The entire Su residence was lively. Waves of warmth had emitted from within the snow and ice.
Steward Qin chuckled as he watched the people playing around and even ran to the side of Yue Wang to encourage him. “Wang Ye, you are also a junior of Madam Su. Why don’t you go over and help serve some dishes to earn a red envelope?”
Yue Wang’s expression grew tenser, and the light in his eyes became uncertain.
Steward Qin knew that he had to stop there. After speaking, he immediately went to the kitchen to help.
After enthusiastically eating lunch, Mu Yunyao saw that Jin Lan and the others had received the rewards and slyly suggested that they play poker.
Jin Lan and the others were somewhat reluctant. “Miss, this is the reward we just received. You can’t be thinking of winning again, right?”
Mu Yunyao blinked her eyes innocently, “This Poker doesn’t seem like an ice play. It all depends on luck to play it. Could it be that the heavens can still especially look after me?”
Jin Lan and the others agreed. Ice play relied on strength to play, but poker didn’t. It was a great time to win against Young Miss. “Alright. If Miss lose later, don’t complain to Madam.”
“Of course.” Mu Yunyao replied with a smile. After she finished speaking, she immediately felt Yue Wang’s cold gaze, causing her fingers to tremble uncontrollably. She hurriedly turned her head and asked with a smile, “Fourth Master, do you want to play a few games too?”
“I don’t know much about it.” Yue Wang said hesitantly. He had already stood up and walked to the table, sitting on the left side of Mu Yunyao.
Mu Yunyao originally wanted to say ’it’s okay’. But when she saw this scene, she silently swallowed the words on the tip of her tongue. Right now, she felt more and more amazed as her understanding of Yue Wang changed all the time. She really doesn’t know what the real Yue Wang was.

In her previous life, Mu Yunyao had always been an expert at playing poker. After playing two rounds, she got used to it and became an ever-victorious general. She quickly won over half of the red envelopes in Jin Lan and Jin Qiao’s hands.
Jin Lan couldn’t help but wail, “Miss, didn’t you say that playing Poker depends on luck?”
“Of course. What else can I rely on besides luck?” Mu Yunyao blinked her eyes innocently.
Jin Lan mumbled to herself as she pulled Jin Pei up. The red envelope in her hand had already passed before it could warm up. As a good sister, the others naturally had to do the same.
But in the following two matches, Mu Yunyao surprisingly lost.
Mu Yunyao couldn’t help but blink her eyes when she saw Yue Wang, who plays the card unhurriedly. She kept having the feeling that Yue Wang had already known what cards she held in her hands. As expected, in the next few rounds, the silvers taels on Yue Wang’s hands were almost unable to be put down.
“Fourth Master, why do you always win the cards?”
A trace of a smile flashed past Yue Wang’s eyes. It was rare for him to smile so easily. The arc on his lips was so small: “Good luck.”
Mu Yunyao’s breath tightened. When she saw that Su Qing had called for people to help her prepare the food, she immediately threw away her cards and followed her.
Jin Lan and the others looked at each other. They dared to be at the poker table because Young Miss was sitting there. Now that Young Miss had left, they dared not face Fourth Master alone. His eyes were really frightening.
Fortunately, Yue Wang also put down his cards, telling Yu Heng to keep the silver taels on the table, and went to the courtyard to enjoy the snow.
In the kitchen, Mu Yunyao helped with the cooking and watched as Su Qing steamed the flour for the Chinese Zodiac to worship the sky. “I’m a rabbit. Mother, I want you to make the rabbit more lovely, and I still want to eat it after cooking!”
“Got it. You say the same thing every time you celebrate the New Year.” Su Qing’s fingers moved nimbly, and with a few movements, a small and lively rabbit appeared in her hands.
Mu Yunyao rested her chin on her hands as she smiled. “If you don’t make it cuter, how can it be a match of me?”
“Your face is not like a rabbit’s, but like the last one in the Chinese Zodiac.” As Su Qing said this, she used her hand to scratch the tip of Mu Yunyao’s nose.
Mu Yunyao wrinkled her nose and didn’t wipe the flour on the tip of her nose. Instead, she said to Su Qing, “Who said that? Mother, touch it and see if my face is so thin and fragile?”
“It’s as thick as a city wall!”
“Who said that I wanted to find someone to judge. Where is Steward Qin?” As Mu Yunyao spoke, she turned around to look for someone. She didn’t expect that she couldn’t find Steward Qin, but she saw Yue Wang holding his hand as he slowly walked in. She immediately shut her mouth, almost biting the tip of her tongue. Why did it seem like this person was lingering around like a ghost?
Yue Wang had long since heard the conversation between Mu Yunyao and Su Qing, and his gaze couldn’t help but fall onto the bamboo steamer. He made a complete set of Chinese Zodiac signs, which looked adorable in different shapes.
Su Qing also saw Yue Wang. She hurriedly smiled and said, “Young Master Ning, why are you here as well? The kitchen is very stuffy. Don’t dirty your clothes.”
“Madam, may I help you?”
Su Qing’s face was full of astonishment. Dali Dynasty paid attention to the fact that a gentleman was far away from the kitchen. Someone like Young Master Ning would never know what the kitchen looked like all his life. “This …” Yue Wang went to the water basin to wash his hands, picked up a lump of dough, and gently kneaded it in his hands. Not long later, he squeezed out a chubby mandarin duck cat, which had coiled into a semicircle, slightly squinting its eyes, and its tail wrapped around its body. It looked like it was sleeping soundly and extremely cute.
Su Qing was even more surprised. “I can’t believe that Young Master Ning is this skilled!”
“I’ve carved some small items before. I think the dough is about the same.” After speaking, he placed the mandarin duck cat on the steaming tray. He put it beside the rabbit that Su Qing had just finished pinching. After he put it out, he glanced at Mu Yunyao.
Mu Yunyao felt extremely displeased and couldn’t help but point at the cat and ask, “Fourth Master, are you pinching a tiger?”
Yue Wang moved his eyebrows and looked at her with a smile in his eyes.
Su Qing couldn’t hold back her laughter, “How can there be such a small tiger? It is a cat. I’m afraid it’s not enough for a tiger to eat!”
“Mother, it looks like a tiger …” Mu Yunyao didn’t admit that she had seen it wrongly.
Yue Wang did not make a sound. He picked up a larger piece of dough and pinched a tiger in a few strokes. To emphasize his identity, Yue Wang picked up a knife from the side and carefully engraved the word Wang on the tiger’s head. Then, he casually placed the tiger next to the mandarin duck cat.
With this, the contrast became even more intense. The tiger really could eat the cat with its mouth open.
Yue Wang looked at the fuming Mu Yunyao, and his gaze wavered slightly. “Miss Mu, do you want to pinch one as well?”
Mu Yunyao couldn’t help but raise her head and fiercely glare at Yue Wang.
Su Qing laughed directly, with tears in her eyes: “Haha, don’t let her do it. She can’t rub the steamed buns well, much less pinch animals. Let her pinch a cat. She can pinch it and turn it into a toad!”
“Mother!” Mu Yunyao couldn’t help but blush. How could her mother say anything about her old bottom? Furthermore, she was in front of Yue Wang, and she had lost a lot of faces.
Yue Wang looked at Mu Yunyao, whose face was slightly red. His gaze gradually turned gentle, and his heart had calmed down. Before, no matter what he did, his heart always carried a ruthless killing intent. But now, he only felt tranquil, and the beauty made him unable to help the corners of his mouth to smile. Su Qing also felt unkind: “Alright, can’t Mother say anything? Quickly steam these exquisite membranes. Later, we will have to sacrifice them to the heavens!”
" After he finished speaking, he placed the mandarin duck cat on the steaming tray. He put it right next to the rabbit that Su Qing had just finished pinching. After he put it out, he glanced at Mu Yunyao. "
ReplyDeleteWow, he is SERIOUS. He just indirectly stated that he sees Yunyao as his OTP for life. o.O
I just looked it up and there's no such thing as a Mandarin duck cat. I wonder what the author meant by the term.
