Incurable Chapter 68 She Has Talent (2)

The Whole World Once everything was ready, Liu Anzhi changed costumes. Even dressed in coarse cloth with her hair braided, the little girl still somehow looked fresh and ethereal. She listened carefully to her mother’s instructions. The moment the director called action, her expression immediately changed. Tears instantly gathered in her eyes. The sight of such a tiny child looking on the verge of tears made everyone around them suck in a breath. Even Mu Wan froze for a moment. “Mother~” Liu Anzhi called. Mu Wan came back to herself and immediately entered character. Mother and daughter completed the entire scene in a single take. The instant they finished, the director called cut. Liu Anzhi immediately transformed from the obedient, sensible little girl in the scene back into a child who loved acting spoiled. Tears still clung to her eyelashes. Yet she was already smiling. Her eyes were crystal clear inside their reddened rims. She stretched out both arms. “Mommy, carry me.” It was he...

Incurable Chapter 60 A Bouquet of Stars (2)

A Bouquet of Stars

Liu Qianxiu went upstairs.

Mu Wan immediately turned over, knelt on the bed, and opened her arms with a smile.

He walked over and hugged her.

Mu Wan was already warm.

She had removed her coat and wore only trousers and a fitted sweater.

Her soft, slender body clung to him as he held her.

Even though she had not seen snow yet, she was still happy.

This was what a honeymoon should be.

Being with the person she loved.

Seeing unfamiliar scenery.

Letting both body and mind relax.

"Hungry?"

Liu Qianxiu kissed her while holding her.

It was already afternoon.

It was indeed almost time for dinner.

Mu Wan slipped down from his arms.

"Is there anything to eat here?"

"No prepared food," Liu Qianxiu said. "But the ingredients are ready. We'll have to cook."

"Then let's cook together!"

Mu Wan immediately became enthusiastic.

Liu Qianxiu smiled and looked down at her.

"Together?"

"I'll wash the vegetables."

Mu Wan answered confidently.

"The water's cold."

Liu Qianxiu lowered his head and kissed her forehead.

"You can sit there and watch."

And so Mu Wan really did sit there and watch Liu Qianxiu prepare the entire dinner.

She was not picky about food.

He made a few simple Western dishes.

After dinner, Liu Qianxiu put the used dishes into the dishwasher.

Mu Wan watched how naturally he operated it.

Standing beside him, she asked, "Dishwashers are so convenient. Why didn't you install one in the Nanfeng apartment?"

Liu Qianxiu looked back at her.

The dishes in his Nanfeng apartment were white porcelain from the Song dynasty.

How could he possibly put them in a dishwasher?

Their eyes met.

He remembered the bowl Mu Wan had broken once before.

His lips pressed together slightly.

"I forgot."

"Later, I never installed one."

Mu Wan believed him completely.

She did not ask further.

They were close to the polar region.

Days were short and nights were long.

Outside, it was already completely dark.

Mu Wan turned toward the window.

The night sky looked extraordinarily beautiful.

"It looks like something from a fairy tale."

She turned back and smiled at Liu Qianxiu.

The glow from the fireplace reflected in her eyes, making them sparkle.

Liu Qianxiu glanced outside too.

Then he took her hand.

"Let's go outside and look."

"Okay!"

Mu Wan immediately agreed.

The scenery outside was beautiful.

But the temperature was extremely low.

Mu Wan had already felt it when she got out of the car earlier.

Before leaving, she put on a down jacket.

Then Liu Qianxiu wrapped her scarf around her again and added gloves.

"I could just put my hands in my pockets."

Mu Wan spread her gloved hands.

Her voice came muffled through the scarf.

Only her two eyes remained visible.

They were moist and bright, like a puppy's.

Liu Qianxiu placed a hat on her head.

Her thick black hair was pressed down beneath it.

"This is warmer."

It was cold outside, but there was no wind.

Once Mu Wan finished dressing, she ran outside first.

Liu Qianxiu was still putting on his coat.

Mu Wan ran a circle in front of the villa.

Through the scarf, she breathed in small mouthfuls of air warmed by the fabric.

The place felt extraordinarily free.

The world around her was vast and empty.

Nothing seemed to restrain her.

Unable to resist, she ran around twice.

After quite a while, Liu Qianxiu still had not appeared.

Mu Wan became puzzled.

She headed back toward the entrance.

She had just finished running and felt warm all over.

She tugged her scarf down.

White mist escaped with her breath.

"Liu Qianxiu."

She called his name.

Liu Qianxiu stepped out of the villa.

He wore a dark down jacket and a scarf.

His figure remained tall and lean.

Seeing him, Mu Wan pointed toward the sky.

"I was wrong earlier."

"There aren't any stars."

From inside the room, looking through the glass, what she had mistaken for stars must have been reflections from the fireplace.

Mu Wan sounded slightly disappointed.

"Mm."

Liu Qianxiu answered quietly.

He reached over and pulled her scarf back up until it covered her cheeks.

Then he took her hand and led her toward the bench in front of the villa.

The moment Mu Wan sat down, Liu Qianxiu picked up something beside him.

She looked carefully.

He flicked a lighter.

Fire illuminated his face.

While Mu Wan watched in confusion, he lit a bundle of sparklers in his hand.

In the quiet mountain forest, surrounded by freezing air, a cluster of sparks suddenly bloomed from his hand.

Orange firelight illuminated his features.

They looked deep and mesmerizing.

Mu Wan's heart stirred.

Liu Qianxiu held the sparklers toward her.

"A bouquet of stars for you."

Liu Qianxiu suited places like this.

His appearance and temperament were both cool and distant.

Yet whenever he faced her, Mu Wan could always feel an unmistakable warmth.

She smiled and accepted the bouquet of sparklers.

Holding them excitedly, she swung her legs.

The sparks spun circles in her hand.

Like rings of fire.

Looking at the dark sky through them truly felt like gazing at a field of stars.

"The flowers you give me are always so unusual."

Mu Wan watched the sparks crackle.

She leaned against his shoulder and looked up.

Her eyes curved with happiness.

"The first flowers you gave me were cotton candy."

"They were sweet."

"This time you gave me fireworks."

"They're beautiful."

"Liu Qianxiu, I love you so much."

Mu Wan never held back her confessions.

Her voice was soft and sweet.

Once the sparklers burned out, she curled her entire body into his embrace.

They were both dressed thickly.

Yet Liu Qianxiu still managed to gather her completely into his arms.

He looked down at her.

"I love you too."

Mu Wan awkwardly lifted her gloved hand and pulled down his scarf.

Then she kissed his eyes.

Liu Qianxiu carried her back inside.

The warmth of the room surrounded them.

Their winter clothing was discarded piece by piece as they moved.

By the time they reached the bed, Mu Wan was barely wearing anything.

The air became intimate and warm.

Their breathing intertwined.

Mu Wan lay on the soft bed, responding to Liu Qianxiu's kisses—gentle, yet carrying an unmistakable possessiveness.

Her thoughts grew hazy.

Her eyes gradually lost focus.

As she wrapped her arms around him while he kissed her earlobe, her gaze suddenly drifted toward the window.

"It's snowing."

Mu Wan's voice was husky.

She caught Liu Qianxiu's face between her hands.

Before he could react, the woman beneath him had already sat up.

She put on her slippers and hurried toward the window.

Outside the glass, large snowflakes were falling.

Liu Qianxiu remained kneeling on the bed.

Desire still darkened his eyes.

His gaze paused.

Then he got up and walked behind her.

"I want to make a wish."

It was the first snowfall, after all.

Mu Wan's eyes sparkled.

She turned toward Liu Qianxiu.

"What are you wishing for?"

Liu Qianxiu wrapped his arms around her from behind.

Mu Wan had not really thought about it.

She looked back at the heavy snow outside.

"I wish that we'll always be happy."

Her body was warm and soft.

She leaned slightly against the window.

Her long fingers rested against the glass.

Her bare back revealed two delicate shoulder blades.

Liu Qianxiu lowered his head and kissed the back of her neck.

Mu Wan shivered.

She saw the emotion moving beneath his dark eyes.

The heat that had only just cooled in her body rose again.

Her face disappeared partly into her black hair.

Her lips were red.

Her eyes bright and dark.

"I want happiness right now."

Mu Wan turned her face toward the falling snow.

Her cheeks were burning.

Her voice became soft and low.

"The kind of happiness you give me."

Liu Qianxiu lowered his eyes.

His Adam's apple moved.

A moment later, he pressed close behind her.
