Incurable Chapter 68 She Has Talent (2)

The Whole World Once everything was ready, Liu Anzhi changed costumes. Even dressed in coarse cloth with her hair braided, the little girl still somehow looked fresh and ethereal. She listened carefully to her mother’s instructions. The moment the director called action, her expression immediately changed. Tears instantly gathered in her eyes. The sight of such a tiny child looking on the verge of tears made everyone around them suck in a breath. Even Mu Wan froze for a moment. “Mother~” Liu Anzhi called. Mu Wan came back to herself and immediately entered character. Mother and daughter completed the entire scene in a single take. The instant they finished, the director called cut. Liu Anzhi immediately transformed from the obedient, sensible little girl in the scene back into a child who loved acting spoiled. Tears still clung to her eyelashes. Yet she was already smiling. Her eyes were crystal clear inside their reddened rims. She stretched out both arms. “Mommy, carry me.” It was he...

Thinking About You

“Auntie Wu came to my apartment to cook dinner,” Mu Wan said as she called Liu Qianxiu on the way to the parking lot. “Let’s eat at my place tonight. Is there anything you want?”

Liu Qianxiu had never met Auntie Wu before.

This was a perfect opportunity to introduce them.

“Whatever you like is fine.”

Liu Qianxiu glanced at the time.

“I can finish work early today.”

“No surgery?”

Mu Wan stepped along the paving stones, smiling as she chatted with him.

“I have one tomorrow.”

Since returning to the hospital, Liu Qianxiu’s workload had been slightly lighter than before. But his surgical skills were exceptional, so some operations still required him to perform them personally.

Mu Wan loved seeing him in his white coat.

To everyone else, he looked distant and detached, almost untouched by worldly concerns.

But with her, he was always gentle and indulgent.

“Then what have you been doing all day?” Mu Wan asked cheerfully, kicking a small pebble out of her path.

She could hear documents being turned on the other end of the phone.

Liu Qianxiu was silent for a moment.

Then his deep voice came through.

“Thinking about you.”

Mu Wan’s eyelashes trembled.

Her heart gave a little leap.

She stopped walking for a moment and raised her eyes toward the blue sky and white clouds.

The world above her was wide and open, and her mood suddenly felt just as light.

She laughed quietly.

A faint blush spread over her cheeks.

“Neglecting your duties.”

Liu Qianxiu laughed too.

Mu Wan could imagine exactly what his smile looked like.

Even now, it still made her heart flutter just as it had when they first met.

His voice traveled through the phone, filling the very tip of her heart with sweetness.

“Liu Qianxiu.”

“Mm.”

“I like you so, so much~”

Mu Wan’s eyes curved into crescents.

Then she hung up.

Still blushing, she continued walking toward the parking lot.

A busy signal sounded on Liu Qianxiu’s end.

The smile had not yet disappeared from his lips.

A faint ripple disturbed his usually tranquil eyes.

Holding the phone, Liu Qianxiu lowered his gaze.

Then, softly, he said,

“Me too.”

“Miss Mu, you’re finished quite early today.”

Uncle Li greeted her with a smile.

He was a kind-looking man who always dressed neatly. He spoke slowly, usually with a gentle smile, making him very approachable.

“Someone came to visit me at home,” Mu Wan said with a smile. “I just spoke to Liu Qianxiu. We’re having dinner at my apartment tonight.”

“Could you take me home, Uncle Li?”

“Of course, of course.”

Uncle Li opened the car door for her.

After Mu Wan got in, he closed it and walked around to the driver’s seat.

His driving was extremely reliable, both smooth and efficient.

Before long, Mu Wan arrived at her apartment.

It had been quite some time since she had last returned.

She took out her keys and opened the door.

Everything inside was neat and tidy.

Auntie Wu had obviously been cleaning.

Sounds came from the kitchen.

“Wanwan, is that you?”

Mu Wan smiled and walked toward the kitchen doorway.

Auntie Wu’s small figure was moving busily around the room.

“I’m home.”

Then Mu Wan noticed that Auntie Wu was preparing the rice.

“Make enough for three people,” she said with a smile. “Liu Qianxiu is coming over today too.”

The moment Auntie Wu heard the name Liu Qianxiu, her hand trembled while washing the rice.

She nearly dropped the pot.

She knew Mu Wan’s boyfriend was an important man.

A very important man.

Someone powerful enough to command tremendous influence throughout Xia City.

The elderly woman immediately became nervous.

She hurriedly looked over the vegetables she had bought.

Everything was something Mu Wan liked.

Setting down the pot, she wiped her hands.

“Then... then what does he like to eat? I can go out and buy something else.”

“He eats whatever I eat.”

Mu Wan laughed.

She walked over and gently massaged Auntie Wu’s shoulders, trying to help her relax.

“He’s a very good person. He treats me well, and he treats other people well too.”

“He just doesn’t talk much.”

Mu Wan had only said a few simple things, but Auntie Wu could already tell exactly how well Liu Qianxiu treated her.

Whenever Mu Wan spoke about him, there was a special light in her eyes.

Those little expressions could not be faked.

Auntie Wu suddenly felt deeply moved.

She remembered Mu Wan’s mother.

Back then, Mu Wan’s mother had rarely spoken openly about her feelings either.

But whenever she thought about the person she loved, she wore that same expression.

When the person you loved loved you in return, the happiness showed no matter how hard you tried to hide it.

Mother and daughter were exactly alike.

“What’s wrong?”

Mu Wan looked at Auntie Wu.

The older woman was smiling at her, but tears had almost gathered in the corners of her eyes.

Mu Wan smiled and wrapped her arms around her.

“I was thinking about your mother,” Auntie Wu said. “You’re becoming more and more like her.”

At the mention of her mother, Mu Wan smiled too.

Then she suddenly remembered something.

Her expression brightened.

“Oh, right, Auntie Wu! I have some good news for you!”

Auntie Wu immediately cheered up.

“What is it?”

Mu Wan pointed at her stomach, her smile innocent and radiant.

“I’m pregnant.”

But contrary to Mu Wan’s expectations, Auntie Wu did not smile along with her.

Her expression froze.

After a moment, she asked,

“Then... when is he planning to marry you?”
