Incurable Chapter 66 What Did You Say? (2)

What Did You Say?

After Mu Wan finished exchanging affectionate messages with Liu Qianxiu, she received a call from Lin Wei.

The postpartum nanny had just entered to feed Anzhi.

Mu Wan took her phone and walked toward the window.

The sunlight outside was bright and warm.

She narrowed her eyes against it and answered.

Before she could say anything, the sound of a baby crying came through the phone, followed by Lin Wei frantically trying to soothe him.

Mu Wan waited until she had finally calmed him down before asking,

“Why is Little Seedling crying?”

Little Seedling was the nickname of Lin Wei’s son.

His full name was Lu Yihe.

He was one month older than Liu Anzhi.

Lu Yihe had certainly caused Lin Wei plenty of trouble while still in her stomach.

But after being born, he was actually very well behaved and rarely cried.

“What else could it be?”

Lin Wei sighed.

“He wants to go out and play. Everything else about him is fine, but his heart is already wild. I don’t even need to think about it—he’s definitely going to grow up into some spoiled young master.”

Mu Wan laughed at the way Lin Wei could apparently see her son’s entire future from infancy.

“Then bring him out. Come over now.”

“Anzhi will nap after her milk. By the time you arrive, she’ll probably be awake.”

Lin Wei had called for exactly that reason.

Hearing Mu Wan offer first, she did not bother pretending otherwise.

“Fine. I’ll get everything ready and come over.”

Of course, “getting everything ready and coming over” was easier said than done.

Lu Yihe was a four-month-old baby.

Going anywhere with an infant was never simple.

Mu Wan waited two full hours for mother and son to arrive.

She went outside to greet them.

Lu Yihe was already awake and stared at Mu Wan.

Lin Wei took their things from the nanny.

Seeing Mu Wan holding her son, she asked,

“Where’s Anzhi?”

“She should be waking up soon.”

Mu Wan looked at her.

“Come on.”

Lin Wei’s family was well-off too.

Whenever she went out, a driver and nanny accompanied her.

After following Mu Wan into the nursery, the nanny put Lu Yihe down and left.

Only Lin Wei and her son, and Mu Wan and her daughter, remained inside.

Hearing the movement outside, Liu Anzhi woke as well.

Lin Wei and Lu Yihe visited often, so they were no longer unfamiliar to her.

She opened her enormous eyes and looked at Lin Wei.

Lin Wei smiled, clapped her hands, and called,

“Our baby Anzhi is awake?”

The moment Anzhi saw her clapping hands, her eyes curved.

She smiled.

Receiving the full force of Liu Anzhi’s smile, Lin Wei immediately clutched her chest.

She could not resist leaning down and kissing her.

“Oh my goodness, why does this baby smile so much?”

“How can she be this cute?”

Lu Yihe watched his mother openly betray him for another baby right in front of him.

He immediately babbled in obvious dissatisfaction.

Mu Wan laughed.

She placed him on the bed and pinched his little hand.

“Then should Mommy give Little Seedling a younger sister?”

“You think a personality like Anzhi’s is something you can just produce whenever you want?”

Lin Wei sighed.

Liu Anzhi truly was universally adored.

Not only was she beautiful, but she loved to smile.

Naturally, Mu Wan was delighted to hear her daughter praised.

Lin Wei watched her smiling.

After thinking for a moment, she pursed her lips.

“How about she becomes my daughter-in-law?”

“Isn’t that a little overbearing?”

Mu Wan said.

“Has your son agreed? You’re just assigning him a wife?”

“Parents’ wishes and the matchmaker’s word.”

Lin Wei grinned.

“Whether my son agrees isn’t important. The crucial issue is whether your Daoist Liu agrees.”

She poked her son’s little cheek.

“Besides, our Little Seedling likes Angel Anzhi very much, doesn’t he?”

Lu Yihe could not understand a single word his mother was saying.

He only sensed that another baby was beside him.

Curious, he very impressively rolled over onto his stomach and looked at Liu Anzhi.

“Wow, Little Seedling rolled over so well.”

Mu Wan could not help clapping.

Perhaps hearing her mother praise another baby, Liu Anzhi refused to fall behind.

She babbled something unintelligible and began twisting her body.

“Look, look! Anzhi wants to roll over too.”

Lin Wei watched her carefully and reminded Mu Wan,

“Three months to roll, six months to sit, nine months to crawl. She’s almost there.”

Every tiny milestone in a child’s development could make parents absurdly happy.

Mu Wan stared intently at Anzhi.

The little girl wriggled her body.

At first, she failed to complete the roll.

With a tiny flop, she fell onto her back again.

Apparently deciding that this was entertaining, she started laughing.

Lu Yihe merely lifted his head and watched.

As though encouraging her, he babbled twice.

Then he flopped down beside her.

“Hey, hey, hey! Don’t lie down!”

Lin Wei was still full of enthusiasm.

“Teach your little sister!”

Perhaps Lu Yihe somehow understood.

He nimbly rolled onto his stomach again and lifted his head toward Anzhi.

Another attempt.

Mu Wan’s heart became tense again.

Maybe this time she would succeed.

Liu Qianxiu was not there.

She hurriedly pulled out her phone and began recording Anzhi.

On the screen, Liu Anzhi received another demonstration.

Then she looked downward toward her mother.

Their eyes met.

Mu Wan smiled and whispered,

“Come on, baby~”

Receiving her mother’s encouragement, Anzhi babbled twice.

She gathered her strength.

Then—

with one little roll—

she successfully flipped onto her stomach.

She looked like a snow-white mochi dusted with sugar as she rolled straight across Mu Wan’s heart.

The sweetness hit so hard that Mu Wan did not even react for a moment.

After rolling over, Anzhi happened to end up directly face-to-face with Lu Yihe.

The two babies stared at each other with huge eyes.

Lu Yihe’s little brows furrowed slightly.

Anzhi clenched her tiny fists.

Seeing the world from this new angle for the first time, she waved her hands and started smiling.

The moment she smiled, Lu Yihe opened his mouth and lunged forward to nibble at her.

“Hey! Hey! Hey!”

Lin Wei laughed helplessly.

Before Lu Yihe could actually kiss Anzhi, she hurriedly scooped him up.

Mu Wan also lifted Anzhi.

Lu Yihe had no idea what had happened.

He simply babbled and continued trying to lean toward Anzhi with his mouth open.

Lin Wei immediately started lecturing him.

“What are you doing?”

“Before you kiss a girl, you need to ask whether she wants you to kiss her!”

Then Lin Wei looked at Mu Wan with an expression that clearly said, See? I told you.

“Look at him.”

“This is the future spoiled young master.”

“He already knows how to flirt with girls at this age.”

Holding their babies, the two women burst into laughter.

By the time Liu Qianxiu returned from the hospital, Lin Wei had already left.

The moment he came home, Mu Wan called,

“Husband!”

Then she threw herself at him.

The corner of Liu Qianxiu’s lips lifted as he caught her against his body.

They kissed for a while.

Then Liu Qianxiu carried Mu Wan toward the crib.

Anzhi had just finished drinking milk and was asleep.

Her tiny fists were clenched.

Her face looked completely peaceful.

Liu Qianxiu’s gaze softened.

Then he looked back at Mu Wan in his arms and kissed her again.

The kiss tickled.

Mu Wan laughed and asked whether he had missed her today.

If anything, the two of them had become even more affectionate after having a child.

Liu Qianxiu answered softly.

After kissing her for a while longer, he went to shower.

Then the two had dinner.

Liu Anzhi obediently slept until her parents finished eating.

When she woke and saw Liu Qianxiu, she smiled again, as though asking him to hold her.

Trying to bring herself closer to her father, she skillfully rolled over.

Although Liu Qianxiu had already seen the video, watching her do it directly in front of him still made his gaze shift slightly.

He placed the little one on the bed.

Liu Qianxiu sat beside her.

Mu Wan half-kneeled behind him and wrapped her arms around his neck.

Together, they watched Anzhi roll over.

The baby seemed to understand what her parents wanted.

She immediately flipped herself over.

Mu Wan cried out happily and clapped.

“Baby, you’re amazing!”

Seeing her mother’s clapping hands, Anzhi smiled again.

Under the soft light, the baby’s skin looked pale and pink.

She was curled there like a tiny bundle, with enormous dark eyes, a delicate little nose, and tiny lips.

Sweet and beautiful.

Mu Wan hugged Liu Qianxiu and rested her head against his.

“Our daughter is so pretty.”

Worried that Anzhi might become tired, Liu Qianxiu picked her up.

The moment she entered his arms, her milky fragrance surrounded him.

Liu Anzhi looked up at him with her black-grape eyes and smiled again.

“Mm,” Liu Qianxiu said.

“She looks like you.”

“Xiao Tan complimented Anzhi today too.”

Mu Wan tilted her head.

Her eyes fixed on Liu Qianxiu.

“What did he say?”

“He said she’s beautiful.”

Liu Qianxiu continued,

“He said I’ll have plenty to worry about when she’s older.”

Mu Wan had not expected Xiao Tan to say something like that.

She made a thoughtful sound.

“What did you say?”

“That it’s still early.”

Liu Qianxiu answered honestly.

Liu Anzhi might be beautiful, but she was only a three-month-old baby.

“Oh~”

Mu Wan deliberately dragged out the sound.

Her tone carried endless implications.

Hearing it, Liu Qianxiu turned his head toward her.

Before doing anything else, he leaned over and kissed the corner of her mouth.

Mu Wan laughed.

“Lin Wei brought Little Seedling over today.”

Lin Wei and Mu Wan had been pregnant around the same time.

They had met frequently during pregnancy.

After giving birth, Lin Wei also often brought her son Lu Yihe over to visit.

Liu Qianxiu gave a quiet acknowledgment.

He did not seem concerned.

Seeing no change in his expression, Mu Wan thought for a moment and carefully organized her words.

“So, um…”

“Little Seedling kissed Anzhi.”

After saying it, she quietly hugged Liu Qianxiu and watched his expression.

For once, Liu Qianxiu’s eternally composed face actually changed.

The arm holding his daughter paused.

He raised his eyes toward Mu Wan.

His brows drew together faintly.

As though unsure he had heard correctly, he asked in a low voice,

“What did you say?”
